So let us start our tally training with the latest version of tally ERP9. In this lesson you will see how tally ERP9 is installed. If you don’t have tally erp9 software, download it from tally solution for free. This is the educational version and you can convert it with original fully functional tally ERP9 software at any time. We will discuss these topics later.

Download the software from tally solutions.com to your had disk or if you have original CD of tally ERP9 Put it in your CD drive.

If you downloaded the software go to the folder where it is downloaded and find out the tally software setup icon. And double click on it.

For installing through tally CD, go to Start>>Run and type F:/INSTALL, make sure that the drive name must be your CD Drive, Here I have typed F:/, this may vary depends on your computer settings. Press enter.

Both of the above will lead you to a new screen called tally ERP9 setup wizard.

Click on next button to continue. On the left side click the option button TallyERP9.on the right side you can see the following directory path.

If you want to change the location, type it manually or click on the button provided on the right side to brows.

Now click Local license file under license details.

Click next,

Will bring you the third stage of the installation screen country language selection.

Check Install operation system language Support for multi language support, if you don’t want multi language support leave the check box blank. Now select country and language.

Click on install button, setup will start installation

After completing installation set up will ask you for an operating system CD only if you selected “install operating system support” in country language selection in step 3

Put your operating system CD in your CD drive or select/browse i386 file if it exists in your hard disk. You can also press cancel if you do not have OS CD, but the language support will not be installed. We have completed tally installation successfully. Click on finish button to close installation wizard.

A desktop icon and start menu icon will be created in your computer. Click any one of the icons to start tally program. For our tally learning purpose single user tally with educational mode is enough. But remember you cannot use this educational version for business purpose due to its limitation of entering date. In Educational version you can enter only 1, 2 and 31 of each month, this means that you some month you can enter transaction for 3 dates like May, October and some month only two like April, June etc.There is no restrictions for entering number of transactions.
